The first week at age 7

In stories for 7–8 year olds the character can cooperate and still hold a boundary, and turning to a trusted adult is told as a good move. Different feelings about the same event, short dialogue and a safe way of saying no are part of the telling. Forced self-sacrifice, and plots where a child is asked to keep a secret, are not used.

These are the real nightly goals of the programme published for this age band — not sample text. The story is written for your child; the goals are these.
